Just in time for Pride Month! We're here to give you a behind the scenes of our Gay Donut! It's a fan favorite and people always have some questions.
How'd we come up with it?! Well, we're a Queer owned bakery in Brooklyn, NYC. A while ago we saw a silly quote online that "donuts are just gay bagels" and that got us thinking. Aren't all donuts gay? Yeah, they are. All donuts are Gay Donuts. We can't offer any more of an explanation, to be honest.
Anybody who knows our bakery knows that we don't like to do boring flavors. All of our menus are unique and fun, but
every now and again people ask for something simple. It pained us to think of just having "vanilla" as a flavor. How could we liven it up some? Put some Bite spin onto it? Use rainbows, duh!
So the idea for The Gay Donut was born! The Gay Donut is like our version of Pillsbury Funfetti cake. It is jam packed with rainbow sprinkles on the inside of the base, topped with creamy vanilla icing, and hand-piped with a rainbow design.
We always donate 10% of the proceeds of The Gay Donut to local LGBTQIA+
organizations, and during Pride Month we'll be donating to the Ali Forney Center that protects LGBTQIA+ youth from homelessness in New York City. If you're able, check them out and give back this Pride Month. This goes for catering orders too! So be sure to tell your office and have your corporate Pride Month cash go to a Queer business that supports Queer centers!
The Gay Donut is available for local delivery and pickup in NYC. We also offering corporate catering with on-site availability. Not only can we deliver queer-treats to your office, but we can set up a live donut station and do demos for how they're made!
