Beetlejuice the Musical closed on Broadway last Sunday and we gave them the fright of the lives with some custom mini donuts to wish them Happy Trails. Nothing says Congrats on a successful run on Broadway (and then some!) like custom themed dessert based off of the musical.
Beetlejuice is an incredibly visual Broadway musical, and we had fun coming up with the designs for this menu first. This is a little bit out of the norm for our creative process, since we usually want to come up with the flavors/menu first when we make custom desserts for Broadway shows.
After we had the designs mostly figured out, we listed the the Broadway cast recording about 100 times, and came up with some flavors to match. Here's what we designed -
We saw this Broadway musical when it was on before the pandemic at the Winter Garden theatre and LOVED it. We were so happy to get to revisit it's hilarity while we were writing the menu. The flavors turned out so delicious - expecially the "Tally-Me-Banana" flavor, a chocolate banana mini donut inspired by the classic "DAY-O!" song in Beetlejuice.
Finally, we dropped off at the stage door of Beetlejuice on Broadway! The cool thing about it now that it's at the Marquis Theatre in Times Square, is that there's the standard Broadway marquis, but there is also all of this awesome custom Beetlejuice artwork.
